Real inventions. Real skills. Real results.
I’m Jarrel Byer — an independent inventor who designs, prototypes, and brings original products to life. Now I help aspiring inventors do the same.
I don’t just teach invention. I live it.
I’m a manufacturing and design engineering student, independent inventor, and founder of Invention Skills.
I’ve spent years studying what separates a product that wins from one that never leaves the drawer. That meant going deep into patent structure, materials selection, manufacturing processes, consumer psychology, user experience, and design thinking — built on top of a strong foundation in skill development and performance psychology.
The result: I learned how to think like the best inventors. To understand why one product succeeds and another doesn’t — and how to engineer that advantage deliberately.
I’ve developed multiple original products, including the PopCard Wallet — a multi-pocket pull-tab wallet I designed, prototyped, and refined through multiple versions. I’m currently negotiating a licensing deal with a multimillion-dollar company.
I built Invention Skills because the knowledge that gets products to market shouldn’t be a secret. It’s a learnable skill — and I’m here to teach it.
Support the mission
Invention Skills is an independent operation — built from scratch, funded by passion, and driven by a genuine belief that everyday people can create world-class products.
If my content, my journey, or my work has added value to your life, a donation goes directly toward developing new resources, new inventions, and new ways to help inventors like you. Every contribution keeps this mission moving forward.
Thank you. Truly. — Jarrel
Invention is a skill. And skills can be mastered.
I believe we were designed with the ability to grow through repeated, meaningful work. With faith, intention, and the right method — we can produce results far beyond what we ever expected.
If you’re ready to start developing your ideas — you’re in the right place.
